But then what is the difference? Aren't blackheads just accumulations of the same debris?

The article PP posted was very informative! Here are some key details from it:

These filaments only become noticeable when your pores fill with oil and dead skin. For many people sebaceous filaments are noticeable on the nose, with many mistaking them for blackheads. In fact, what gets pulled out when using a pore strip is most often sebaceous filaments, not blackheads. Sebaceous filaments are most often treated with exfoliating cleanser or salicylic acid.

Yes she does! Everyone on DCUM is way smarter than any trained professional!

Sebaceous filaments are not actually hairs. They are threadlike ("filament") structures composed of dead skin cells and sebum stacked up in a way the wicks the looser sebum oils to the surface.

But they aren't hairs -- they smush apart under pressure.

You and your dermatologist may be using terminology differently.

Laser hair removal sounds perfect for this. Is your skin light?

if it's hair, Nads facial strips could remove it. But if it doesn't, it's not hair.

I spoke to my OB GYN about my 😍 love of Dr Pimple Popper! Yes, sometimes gross, but she changes people lives and self esteem.

I went into my derm to have a couple of milia removed. She asked me if I was a doctor when I used that term! Thank you Dr. Pimple Popper!

that you learned about this on Dr Pimple Popper. I find myself now knowing the difference between a lipoma or sebaceous cyst and guess which one patients have before she opens them up. The more you know...
