Unless you are one of those women who wears summer dresses with opaque tights during the winter, then that is a NO.

Opaque tights are always appropriate in any business setting.

Doesn’t Diane Feinstein make her staffers wear pantyhose? I wonder if opaque is allowed.

But unprofessional? Are you wearing the red plaid nightgown dress to work? Then maybe.

That I understood this reference and laughed means I have been spending waaaaaay to much time in this forum lately.

I have not seen anyone under 60 wear transparent hose. Everyone wears opaque tights.

How would they not be acceptable? I've worn them with my suits even to Congress.

Also, with feds pretty much anything goes... other than shorts! Shorts on a guy and too risque clothes on a woman are the only things I've ever seen people get written up for.

Umm, I'm a lobbyist that needs to dress in business clothing and I wear opaque tights when it's cold and I'm wearing a skirt or dress.

Every woman in my federal office wears opaque tights in the winter.

Yes I wear tights to keep myself warm in the winter. it's more about what you're wearing over the tights, how short your skirt is, etc.

I tend to wear a lot of dresses, even through winters. I'm updating my work wardrobe and decluttering while we're still WFH. I have tons of varieties of black and gray opaque tights that I used to wear with dresses to work prior to WFH. At some point we will go back - are these unprofessional looking, or can I keep wearing them with dresses through the winter?
