Interesting you doubt this post - why? This was my (wife) experience - sex was more routine/businesslike/less passionate/less frequent when kids where small - libido/frequency/passion returned big time when kids were older. But we never let it become "sexless" - always had 1x a week. Now, more like 5x.

I had a big bout of depression at age 35 and if you count once a week as sexless like my asshole husband did, it began then. Things are better now but I don’t know that I’ll ever forgive him for how he handled the whole thing. Now sex isn’t about being emotionally close at all. It’s enjoyable but it will never be the same.

Wow, I just wrote that and hadn’t read the previous entries.
Sounds like similar lack of expectations of being a father, husband and homeowner I continue to suffer from.
One kid I could still do everything but didn’t notice; two kids he needs to grow up and adult. And cannot or will not.
Very unattractive to not trust or team up w one’s spouse.

After the second child was born. I was 34, DW was 30. We'd been married for 5 years. I thought it was just the stress and hectic nature of having infants and toddlers. But when the kids went to school full time & it still didn't bounce back, I realized that a sexless marriage was the rest of my life.
