Mercedes are well-engineered to last, but that means you need to do regular maintenance and the parts aren't cheap. But.. since it's free then you have plenty of budget for parts.

Nothing is more expensive than a cheap european luxury car.

Going by the blue book value this car is worth about $1,000 maybe less.

Nothing is free. Mercedes are expensive to repair. They are not highly amenable to kids working on them. If you want to take on a hooptie and hope for the best, do it but keep your eyes open. You also need to have it safety checked.

Seems like a good car for teen boys to drive, just find an independent mechanic asap.

I would take it! And then sell it myself.

It runs great (owner says he wouldn’t hesitate to drive it cross country) but needs interior work (upholstery comes off the ceiling), Sun roof may leak, some body damage, a mismatched bumper…

My husband’s coworker is giving it away (we’d give him $600 bc of optics) and I say yay and he says nay, not worth it. Would you think this was worth it to have around for teen boys to work on/drive?

We don’t have 10k laying around for a used Toyota….
