Generally, yes. But on the few occasions our nanny squeezed between the two car seats, she was better.

The only two times I’ve ever seen a child choke was on Cheerios.

Calming music for her. Noise reduction earplugs for your sanity.

Does she still scream/get upset if someone sits in the backseat with her?

OP here. She’s tiny so turning her forward facing won’t happen for awhile. And it’s a Graco grow car seat (and I can’t afford a new one) that her brother used until he was three.

Thanks for trying, guys! Much appreciated.

About that age we had alot of issues with crying when we went out. Took a while to figure out his shoes had gotten really tight. We neve wore shoes inside. I felt terrible...

Yup. Time to move on to a bigger car seat.

Change seats.

More recently, but same here.

We had this problem. Unfortunately, for us it was about being rear facing. When we could turn our child around, the craziness stopped. I believe it was a combination of car sickness and not being able to see us. If you have a child on the larger side physically, you can probably turn them to be forward facing around 2 years old. If not, maybe try children’s Dramamine for longer rides, and for shorter rides, just try kids music like Raffi and to stay calm and talk to the child. It sucks. I hope it gets better for you soon.

Do you think she might be getting carsick?

All I can say is when she turns 2, turn her forward facing.

What kind of car seat? Maybe try a different one.

She’s never loved it but used to be better about being in the car seat. Nothing is too tight; it appears comfortable. I have a teethes attached and a mirror where she can see me as well as window shades.

Anything else I can do? The screaming and crying is getting worse.
