I agree with this. Sometimes a teacher is good, sometimes they aren't. Sometimes, if grades are way off from what's expected, it just means the teacher isn't that good. They think they're looking for that "something special," when they're really looking for someone who's like themselves, meaning someone who's not too bright at all. Our DC complained to us that their teacher last year was way better than their teacher this year, and that their teacher this year just tells them what to do and doesn't let them think for themselves. If your kid is doing well but their grades seem to show the opposite, that could be an explanation.
Or, like some other people have said, it could just be no big deal.
