It’s the casein, not the lactose, that causes problems in many people. If this is the case, you’ll need to avoid cow’s milk but might be able to tolerate sheep’s or goat’s.

Dairy allergy or intolerance would be to the milk protein so lactose free milk wouldn’t help with those
