I find pap smears fairly painful, but my transfers were a piece of cake. You’ll be asked to keep your bladder full for the transfer, and that was the “worst” part for me. Good luck!

Yes, typically medicated. After your period ends, your doctor will have you in for an internal ultrasound and blood work. The key is to ensure your hormone levels are right, lining thickness is optimal, and there is no presence of polyps or cysts. You’ll be monitored one or two times a week for about three weeks and then be given a set time for the transfer. Process is same as IUI / feels like pap. Total cakewalk after the retrieve them. Transfers are typically unmedicated unless you have extreme anxiety. I drove myself to and from transfers and took it easy that day, back to normal life the following with light exercise (like walking).
