You would not, hey another reason to skip the epidural.

Not worth skipping the epidural. I can have an orgasm anytime, I really don't need to have one at delivery with an audience.

I did not have one with my first, but I read about it in Ina May Gaskin's book. There were quite a few of the birth stories that described having an orgasm at the moment of delivery. I have no reason to think that these women are lying so I have decided that it is possible and am hoping for one with #2.

There was a moment when she emerged that the pain stopped and it seemed like the whole world was quiet. It is the same way that an orgasm stops everything around you. I don't recall it being the same sensations, but the intensity and euphoria are quite similar. My moaning to deal with the pain probably sounded similar to sex moaning.

I find this hard to believe. Sadly, I am aware of the reverse - the fact that an orgasm can bring on childbirth, thanks to my mother-in-law's way-to-detailed description of her pre-term labor with DH.

haha, point well taken.

though i think faking an orgasm at the moment a baby is coming out of your unmedicated vagina might be a tall order for even a very, very good actress

in the past i was skeptical too BUT if you watch the movie 'orgasmic birth' (which maybe is what the poster is referring to) it is pretty hard not to be persuaded that maybe orgasmic birth is possible for some women. either those women are great actresses, or it is a real phenomena that happens to some women. i figure just because it didn't happen to me doesn't mean it doesn't happen to anyone.

what the fuck?

Yes, really.

I've given birth 3 times and I can assure you, an orgasm was not part of the process.

so I was watching this birth video about childbirth orgasm and would like to know if someone in real life has experenced this.
I want to keep my expectations within reality but between DH and I we always crack jokes about the possibility.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
