I'm 37 weeks with my first and still feel this way. Just not all that excited to go through the terror of labor and then have no idea what we're going to do with a baby afterwards. Feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Is that normal too?

It’s normal but that doesn’t mean you need to suffer. Talk to your OB, look into therapy and/or make arrangements for more help/support if that’d be useful.

Being pregnant while caring for kids is a slog and it can be hard to find bright spots. The hormonal effects can make it even harder. Be kind to yourself.

The baby blues sometime set in while pregnant.

The hormones can play some nasty tricks on your mind Op. Hang in there. It will pass as soon as another fetal development is done.

This happened to me with my third pregnancy, too. Once I was officially in the 2nd trimester, I noticed a small improvement with each passing day. By about 15 weeks, I was definitely feeling actual happiness again.

In fact I can remember the exact last moment I felt happy - I was only maybe 3 weeks along, didn’t yet know I was pregnant, had just started a fantastic workout program, and was happily sipping a glass of white wine in the evening after a long, sweaty day. After that I lost all joy and motivation, and realized that probably meant I was pregnant

I had PPD with my first for a few weeks so I’m expecting that, but omg I can’t wait to feel HAPPY again.

OP here. Yes. This is me. Ugh why are the hormones so much worse this time.

PP here. If it makes you feel better, I had pretty intense PPD -- and it lasted a few weeks, but has now lifted. When I was in the thick of it, though, it felt like it would last forever.

I'm so sorry you feel this way, OP. Chances are it's hormonal and will pass. Hope you feel better. Hugs.

I’m just sad. I didn’t feel this way with my first two. I’m almost in my second trimester (5 more days), and I just haven’t felt happy or joyful in weeks. Dos anyone else experience this while pregnant? I was expecting being tired and nauseous but I hope this doesn’t last the whole time.
