Us too. We also found some good deals at Volvo, Jaguar, and other more high-end dealers. They were less likely to take trades (so have less inventory) but more likely to price their cars competitively to get them off the lot.

This is highly dependent on the car you’re buying.

I buy from dealer a car that just came off 2 year lease and is still under warranty. I usually pay cash though, so that helps with negotiation.

Carmax and carvana are generally on the high side. Especially Carmax. I just looked for what I wanted on autotrader, carfax.com, etc and bought used from a dealer when I found a reasonable price.

We couldn’t find a used hybrid highlander that wasn’t ridiculously priced though.

Thanks to an accident I'm unexpectedly in the market for a car. Last time around I used Cargurus.com to hunt down used cars within the parameters that matter to me. Are there better options now? What about Carvana or Carmax or any other types of places? I'm a neurotic researcher in general and having to do this in a week or two with a lot of other things going on is totally stressing me out! If it matters, I'm hoping to buy either another Honda Pilot or a Toyota Highlander (hybrid model only.) Thanks!
