Cornell if you can pay. SUNY ESF will offer money. VATech is career oriented in College of Natural Resources and has a line to forestry jobs, ranging from advising the paper industry to park rangers.
Policy would not be out if CNRe.
Yale has forestry and policy and way cool forestry building.
If seeing the country is a thing, look west.

I will try to find the link to the research to post here but I read a recent study (majors with better ROI) that found Biology is one of the hardest majors to find a job and also the lowest paid of the STEM fields in relation to tuition costs with only a BS degree. Colorado State. Humboldt State U. There's a SUNY in Syracuse specifically focused on forestry, or SUNY Cortland has a lot of environment focused programs.

If kid is into math/modeling, check out University of Washington. My DC (in a different/related PhD program) thinks highly of QERM (which, as a degree-granting program is only MA/PhD but coursework/faculty is available to undergrads as well).

Montana State is good for forestry. Also, university of Montana. I think U Mass Amherst also has a strong forestry department. University of Washington too
