This is OP. My kid is vaxxed. Of course I don’t know if the UK will let us in next summer.

Best of luck. Sadly I doubt decisions to travel or not to Europe will be the least of our thoughts next summer.

That’s what he used to do when he was younger. He’d join other kids in the park or the street and it was awesome. Picked up some swear words in difffefent languages too. Now I would like something to drop off so I can still sightsee or visit with friends while he plays.

No worries - their camps sound right for what you described. Both organizations run teams for high school and gap year kids. They contacted DS about finishing HS remotely and doing this. That's still pay-to-play and NOT cheap. I'm not advocating that for you, just the summer experience thing.

Another European opportunity, but not in the UK, would be linking up with NF Academy. https://www.nfacademy.com Predominantly Portuguese coaches coaching in the English language to mostly Norwegian and Swedish youth. An American can integrate seamlessly.

My kid (13) would love to attend a football camp for fun while we spend two weeks in London in the summer. He’s an okay player in the US, but not great by European standards. We’d also consider another location if it’s got things to do for the rest of the family. Again, this is just for fun. He won’t be playing for Man City. Any suggestions?
