Longtime tinnitus sufferer here (not sure whether it's menopause, autoimmune disease, or damage due to my long ago screamy toddler). Not a permanent fix, but this can sometimes bring short-term relief. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi8nbHQhPDzAhUJETQIHc7TBhkQFnoECAUQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftrudenta.com%2Fthis-simple-trick-may-help-with-tinnitus%2F&usg=AOvVaw13a_tWToH8xlgRiJzMX43p

Does it mean we are destined for deafness??

No, it just means you will always have the ringing and there isn't anything doctors can do. It sucks. It can start at any time and never go away.

Ok but does it go away for some people?

I've had mine for years. It can go away but mine hasn't. The covid vaccine made it worse too. Double joy.

Tinnitus started when I was 46. After three years my brain was adapted to it, that means I can sleep witohut noise machine because the tinnitus doesn't disturb me anymore. Most people learn to live with tinnitus but it needs time.

Weird. I had an oophorectomy in 2018, and developed ringing in my ears at some point in the last few years. Wish I had done a better job of noticing when it started.

NP and 45. I bought a noise machine and use it every night when I sleep. It helps significantly. Mine is not severe but daily and I don’t notice it as much since I have a busy, fairly loud job. It’s the worst when I’m in bed at night. The dr and ENT said there is nothing wrong with me and nothing that can be done.

Sounds like tinnitus, which occurs pretty frequently in people with common age-related hearing loss. There are lots of posts about it on this forum.

Don’t know anyone in my peri menopausal group experiencing that. Did you have a vaccine recently? One of the potential side effects.

Anyone had this in perimenopause or post menopause or after hysterectomy or oophorectomy or tube removal? Or with hormone replacement? High pitched constant ringing?
