I feel like you should win an award for this. Honestly it’s very cool to me.

Uh, not trying to be rude here but all 2005 cars are not pieces of crap.
If a person maintained their vehicle over the years - then their car may still be a decent ride.

Especially if it is a Toyota or Honda. 👍🏽

My 2005 car is valued $200 by carvana. A dealer actually offered $2,000.

I'll tell someone I know (a young teacher, single) who posted on FB she wants to know if there are any $500 cars around.

My brother bought a car for $5 from a friend at a keg party when he was in high school, drove it for years.

There is a huge shortage of used cars. No need to sell to the aggregators. They just low ball.

Check Carmax. My husband’s 13 year old Honda Accord with 243k miles was “valued” at $200 by Carvana. I put the info into Carmax, and it was $1200. We did end up selling it to Carmax. The guy said they would probably sell it for $1500 to an auction house, who would probably then sell it to someone else for parts.

I don’t think you needed caravana to tell you that your 17 year old car is a junker.

They would make way more than that selling off the parts of your car.

Also, really the cost is the opportunity cost of you buying a replacement car. Presumably, you would buy a car that is worth more than $300.

So, I was watching Carvana commercial which says - just put your tag number, we will instantly give you trade in value - I decided to give it a shot. My beloved 2005/Pathfinder with only 105k (no accidents)... Trade value? $285! It made me chuckle. I guess I am poor?
