Do you have insurance? Do you need a referral from a PCP to see a specialist? If so, you'll need to find a PCP. You could honestly ask friends/just call a few offices for someone who can see you soon. Then ask for a referral to an orthopedist. OrthoVA is a big practice with lots of docs specializing in different parts of the body. If you don't need a referral, you can go straight to them.

You should get a work up from a doctor, including imaging. And then they'll help you figure out what to do next.

Orthopedic. You probably need rest, PT, and weight loss.

Can you swim? That would be better for weight loss at the moment.

Just go see an orthopedist if your insurance allows. They can take xrays and address the problem.

Sounds like hip bursitis to me. Can you switch to a lower impact exercise for the time being - like stationary bike or swimming?

Also, this is something a physical therapist could help you with.

Sounds like sciatica maybe?

I would not go to the ER - you need to be treated but this isn’t an emergency. Start with urgent care.

Do you not have a PCP because you don’t have insurance or because you haven’t found one? If it’s because you haven’t found one, then call your insurer, explain the situation and ask for their assistance.

PCP would normally be the first option. Do you not have one because you haven’t picked one? You don’t need to go to an ER for this. If absolutely no PCP, then try an urgent care first before ER.

I've been living with groin/hip pain on one side for almost 3 years now. It started out mild and occasional, and seemed to only happen during times when I nursed my daughter, so I thought it was hormonal related. It has since gotten worse. The pain is now almost every day, all day and has spread to my tailbone/lower back (on the one side only). I'm 50 lbs. overweight, most of it gained over the last 3 years, and have started walking long distances to help with weight loss. I've noticed that the long distance walking exacerbates the problem. On exercise days, the pain radiates down my thigh. FWIW, I'm still breastfeeding, but slowing weaning DD.

Who do I go see? I do not have a PCP. Should I go to the ER?
