Subject: Bus tours for college visits?
Can she go with a friend and her mom who are visiting schools? I have been taking my DD's friend with us because her mom also has trouble leaving. It's worked out great. I love hearing the two different perspectives on the schools we visited.

You could also just take her to a variety of local schools so she can narrow down to urban/rural/big/small/greek or sports focus etc. Then she can apply and you can visit after you know what the choices are. There is so much on line now...virtal tours/group chats etc. A visit is much less essential. We did not visit anything that required flying nd it worked out well as she did not get in to that school.

I haven’t seen anything like this offered. But I bet if some company offered such a spring break trip, they could fill a bus from DC.

Her father has ALS. I am his primary caregiver. Although it is possible to hire someone overnight to care for him, it is very expensive and hard to do for more than a day or two.
When I was in high school I went on a six day bus trip through the Northeast visiting lots of different schools. Later my parents took me back to just one or two. This seems like a normal thing to me so I’m trying to find one for my daughter.
Good for you for seeking out this opportunity for your daughter. I cannot stand the judgy people on DCUM that feel they must project their own feelings onto your situation. Do what's best for your family.

You can also join even if you are not a low income family. I paid $150 to send my older DD on a tour of HBCUs one spring break. The trip was free if you were FARMs. She didn’t end up applying to any of the schools, but it was a great experience. I would send my younger two if the trip resumes.

Are there any organizations that will take students on a bus tour of certain regional colleges? I’m looking to send my daughter on a tour of some southern schools including wake forest, Duke, university of Miami, Davidson, And college of Charleston. She has time to make this trip and these visits, but I am not able to travel. Everything’s probably more difficult with Covid I know, but do you know if any groups that organize a trip like this? Her school does not do anything.
