What is the requirement for a club/team to join & play in ECNL? Is the ECNL requirement that difficult for other area clubs to join?
I have heard a few MoCo clubs are considering to join GA instead.
They can try all they want. There doesn’t appear to be enough girls in moco and surrounding area that can play at that level.
Hmm. You think that talent stops at the river?
I think many of the clubs are not that great and the coaching “up here” is not as focused on developing that level of play, but the players can be just as good. For example, I remember my DD at age 7 playing a VA travel team. SYC I think. While our girls had a couple of fun hours a week to practice, the VA girls had already been together for 2 years or more, practiced 3x per week for at least an hour, and cut players each year. That is not a question of talent. It is a question of environment and attitude toward soccer. For whatever reason, BCS is the only club that is that focused at an early age.
