It's just amazing that every DCUM parent has a kid with at least 1500 SAT/34-35 ACT and 4.0. Are they just the only ones who post?
I often wonder this, too. It seems that the small percentage of students with 1550 and above SAT scores all live in the DC area and their parents post on dcum …

The point is that it's tough to get into the Honors Program.

My DS is a freshman at Pitt and was accepted into the honors program in the spring (accepted to Pitt in the fall). He had to write an additional essay.

I reported on the other recent Pitt thread my kid just got into Pitt w/score in 1300s.

That's actually a pretty sad statement for DCUM parents. Not that surprising either.

Yes. Pitt rejects 50% of applicants but nobody knows anyone who got rejected.

Honors is not a big deal at Pitt. Don’t send your kid if they “only want honors”.
