I hate youbemom. It's impossible to have a thoughtful conversation about anything there. You get like 3 minutes of immediate, knee-jerk responses and then nobody pays attention to the post ever again as it moves off the first page.

I started in DC with DCUM, then ended up in NYC with urbanbaby. Also love how DCUM organizes the threads, but really miss the rapid pace of UB. Could always go there for quick questions about NYC culture, etiquette, etc. "How much do you tip the garage attendant at the holidays?," "Best place on UES to repair an expensive purse," etc, etc. DCUM regional board for NYC just isn't the same.

Yeah, it would be great to have a version in NYC. and it's a much bigger area too! I don't get it

I don't miss UB that much. I like how threads are organized here. I like that it's not necessarily region-specific but about general topics like Family Relationships, etc. It used to annoy me when ppl outside the NYC area would go on UB.

i miss urbanbaby and the traffic to nycitymoms is so low. crazy there is no nyurbanmom or whatever.
