Because it was barely a derailment.

When the people ON the car don’t even realize it has derailed, it’s not a big deal.

Right, it's only a big deal if people notice and like... die. Stupid Metro wanting to keep people safe.

How would anyone on here know this?

+1. Since we went back to the office I’ve been driving in. Won’t get on Metro ever again because of the pandemic.

Yes, please stay off! It’s so much better now without crowds.

Don’t ever come back. It’s dangerous! You’ll die from a hybrid of covid and ebola as soon as you set foot inside the station! Keep away from metro!!!

Without riders like PP, Metro will whither and die. No way will the jurisdictions fund it enough to support the current ridership and service.

PP will find his/her completely jammed when everyone goes back to work and will have to rethink. The reason most of us were on the metro was because of the traffic.

Sigh. Just in time for me to return to the office full-time next month.

We are a one-car household (we live close in to the District and I bike everywhere) and every week something happens to make me reconsider. With winter (shorter days/potentially icy roads) I am rethinking regular bike commuting. But if the metro is f'd...

WMATA just announced they are pulling all 7000 series cars out of service tomorrow (60% of the fleet) due to a derailment investigation. This means we'll see trains every 30 minutes, at best, throughout the system.

Ugh.
