In fact, our Ball Mastery program is designed for players ages 7-8, who want to improve their technique in a positive, perceptive environment. All our trainers are experienced professionals who know how to work with young athletes, keeping it age-appropriate while still developing skills and soccer IQ. If you're at Arlington and she's looking for a little more you could check out the Arlington Futures program (FKA pre-academy or junior academy). You could also check out NPC and their programs, the year-round stuff is indoors so futsal based but if she loves soccer she'll probably love that too.

HP Elite offers clinics for U7/U8 players in the winter. They're indoors and age-appropriate. They make it fun, and coach at an age-appropriate level. But will provide foot skills training that will help provide a good foundation.

The guy who runs it has 3 young kids, and understands that soccer needs to be fun at this age. He coached my daughter many years ago when she was 7.

I don't think you need lessons. Just pick a program with a real paid coach and not volunteer coach. Isn't there a midlevel adp program down there? Or you can find a travel team that stays local. People in your area may have more specific names.

Soccer Experts,

My DD is seven and played fall rec soccer in Arlington again after stopping for 1+ year. She likes it and is good. But I am not sure what we do next? She needs more coaching and training, her current volunteer coach is nice but does not have much experience. Where do people go for lessons (preferably not too intense). I am not from the US and soccer scene here is intense. I don’t think we want to travel for now, so I am at loss on what are the next steps. Which programs should we look at for her to get more experience and training. Thanks in advance.
