My 10 year old got his at safeway. We were in and out in 10 minute, which included the time it took for me to get my flu shot too. It could not have been easier.

My shot-phobic kid still has to go to the pediatrician for flu mist, because the pharmacies don't do that.

We have been doing pharmacies or grocery stores for years. Way easier and more convenient than our pediatrician's office.

We did it at CVS and it was advantageous since I could get mine too and I got it first so the kids could see me getting it etc.

+1 I don't know of any minute clinics in DC proper that will give flu shots to little kids. But, just over the DC border in MD, CVS will do it.

we went to the pediatricians office through age 3, then this year we all went to target (their pharmacy is a cvs it turns out) and had no problem. I did schedule online, so they knew my kids age when I scheduled at the location. The pharmacy person said they start doing the flu shot in the arm after age 3. It went well, my kid was more focused on getting to pick something out to use the coupon we got on after.

We went to CVS - the pharmacist is giving shots all day long.

It doesn’t matter.

You need an exam table to probably administer the leg shot. So a clinic or doctors office.

Once they get shots in the arm and don’t struggle pharmacy works.

Our 2 yr old got hers at a CVS Minute Clinic and it was fine.

If you go to the Minute Clinic at CVS they will do kids over 18 months. I did that and it was easier to schedule than our pediatrician, but my kids are 6 and 10 so it's pretty easy for them. If I had a toddler I would go to the pediatrician.

With really little kids, I think there is a benefit to doing it at the ped bc they know how to administer a shot to that age group. I made the mistake of taking my 2yo to a general clinic to get it and it was a bad experience - I wasn't able to hold him still enough on the flimsy chair and the needle came out and scratched his leg and they had to do it twice. He was shrieking and was scared of the dr's office for a while after that.

With a bigger kid I don't think it should matter.

If CVS can do them, I don't think it matters, but like PP our pharmacy wouldn't. Our pediatrician had a drive up clinic though and we did it there.

Depending on how old your kid(s) are, CVS may not do them. A few years ago my husband asked if he could get our 3 year old's flu shot at CVS and they said they didn't do kids.

Does it matter? Our well-visit appt already happened in the summer. Thinking it would be more efficient for us to get mass vaccinated at the local CVS
