My DD's team won two matches and lost two, and managed to earn 150 points (finished 3rd overall), which is still more than the flight winner. The flight itself was "valued" at 349 points.

And I thought GS didn't make much sense before the tournament ...
They will get points for being a champion. Or they should. Maybe it hasn’t been calculated yet

But yet, people like to come on here and try like they are enlightening people with their stupid posts about how GotSoccer is meaningless. It doesn't get you into college. etc. Go away. You aren't providing any new content. We know. With that said, thank you to whoever for explaining how those points are calculated.

Boy there are some foolish parents in this area. There are parents at some clubs OBESSED with these rankings and are absolutely sure that they are the definitive source on who is the best team/club. Certain clubs use it as their unofficial marketing material![]()

This is from the Arlington/DCU thread: "Its pointless unless at least 1 member of that Arlington team makes it to the pros. Unless either team produces a pro from that game its a complete wash." I don't think it was sarcasm.
I agree that GotSoccer points are a little silly, but don't let the forum get you down.
Plus, it looks like the points for winning the flight just haven't been added in yet. I'm sure your squad will end up with more total points from the tourney than the runner up.
