Dutch Soccer School usually does some overnights. Last year they were in Hagerstown and near Milwaukee - neither a great destination. They tend to have a mix of skills and do a good job of grouping kids with similar skills together. The year my son did it there was a group of DA boys in the top tier, down to lower tier travel boys.

Plenty of games and scrimmages. Most coaches are from the Netherlands.

It helps a lot if a friend or two does it as well - the overnight camps seem to have friend groups/teammates sign up so a solo might feel out of place.

This is closer to home, but UMD's residential camp is excellent.

We're hoping that summer 2022 will be basically "normal" and are starting to think about camps and whatnot. We have a 12-year-old boy who is a strong player (one of the strongest on his top-level team at his mid-tier club), whose foot skills and power trail his athleticism and soccer IQ. He'd love to spend a couple of weeks this summer at a camp with other strong players where there would be a lot of focus on individual skill development (getting from good to excellent, not the basics), but also some games/scrimmages. Any recommendations? Bonus points for locations less brutally hot than DC, ideally New England and/or at altitude. TIA!
