Oh my god I feel so bad that some people can’t smell baby smell.

Even the white cottage cheese gunk between their skin folds was like crack up me. Best freaking smell in the world!

Lol what exactly do you think formula is made out of?

Same except I have a very good sense of smell generally. I still haven’t figured out what the “baby smell” people rave about is.

Omg it is not because you are exclusively formula feeding, and I’m really sorry if some breastfeeding lactivist told you this!

I actually noticed with my second child I couldn’t detect his “scent” in the early days (and I was EBF).

Congratulations, and enjoy your baby!

The neck, however, can get awful cheese stink in the folds.

Pheromones type thing so mothers can identify their child. Assuming you bathe baby every day. I used to nickname DD "stinky head," bit it wasn't a terrible smell.

I couldn’t smell my own babies’ heads, but could definitely smell other people’s. I think it’s a closeness and familiarity thing.

You’re just used to it. Don’t worry.

Try smelling your baby’s feet.

Its a weird thing that people say. We didn't use toxic shampoos like J&J, so our kids didn't have the powder scent either.

Do you have covid?

Because you didn't shampoo it with baby shampoo (scented with amniotic fluid fragrance)?

Hi--everyone says babies smell great, especially their heads! But my newborn's head doesn't smell at all...neither good nor bad. Is it because I'm exclusively formula feeding?

(This question is in no way urgent, obviously; I'm just curious!)

Thanks
