I don't, but I don't begrudge those who do. My friend had a rough go and is a widow with no kids, so their pet is their baby. I'm ok with that (not that they need my permission anyways).

I'm British by origin and there is a lot of pet stuff in this country that I used to baulk at - dressing dogs up, dying poodle's coats pink, etc. things that in the UK are classed as abuse and would under certain circumstances get your pets taken away.

However, I have lived here long enough now to accept all this. I am happy with people calling themselves pet parents, having fur babies and I'll even accept someone using the word "puppy" to describe a fully grown dog.

It’s weird when people say them. But it’s also weird how mad it makes other people when they do.

I have a dog and 2 human kids. I don’t say fur baby or whatever when referring to my dog, but I think it’s fine for other people to say it. It doesn’t bother me at all.

I don't use them (I'm "her person" and we are "her people") but I don't care if others do.
