I have a friend who got it and likes it a lot, plugs it in every night.

In the market to replace an older SUV and am very interested in the electric hybrid BMW X5. For several reasons I am not ready to commit to a fully electric vehicle yet. I came across this as a potential alternative since most of my day-to-day trips are under 30 miles, which is the range for the battery. I need the flexibility to go longer distances (at times to areas without charging infrastructure) so this suv appeals to me.

It seems to be well reviewed by the professionals, but does anyone here have one and can share more insight? Or anyone who test drove it and decided against it, I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Also open to other hybrid suggestions, but it must be a luxury SUV with luxury interior/finishes. Budget up to $75k.

Please do not tell me to buy an e-tron or tesla, I need the combustion engine option for now.
