Sorry, can’t help with parking as I’ve only taken metro to go there. But get the sweet potato sandwich and a cup of the roasted tomato soap. So good!

Until the DMV actually makes it faster and more convenient to metro vs. drive, this is wishful thinking. People defer to taking trains into NYC because it's easily the most efficient way to commute to the city, but in DC, it's just not faster to metro from many areas of the burbs to various parts of the city. Sometimes it may work out more efficient depending on the start/end points, but often enough it doesn't.

It is also cheaper in many cases to drive and street park for a while. Metro is now outrageously expensive.

You can try to find a street spot. But if you want a guarantee, then find a garage or take the metro in. It's pretty easy to get there from Red or Green lines.

There should be street parking, but there are also a bunch of parking garages nearby, on either I street or in the building where they put the new DC Bar Association.

I'm a suburbanite, meeting a college friend here in the morning (8:30 if that matters) before she heads to the Capitol. She'll arrive by uber. Any advice for me besides drive around and look for an open spot?
