My DD and her friends came home. She said buses were taking kids home so they left too. Just got the official word from W-L that school is closed today.

Dear W-L Staff and Families,

We received an anonymous call this morning during arrivals claiming that there was a shooter in the building. While there is no evidence of an immediate threat, we immediately locked the building down and notified the Arlington County Police Department. The ACPD is on the scene investigating to ensure the building is safe. All students are in a secure location. Students arriving have been temporarily moved to a safe location offsite while the ACPD conduct their investigation.

We will inform you as soon as further details are known.

It is home coming week, could it be a horribly stupid prank? My DC made it home with some friends. No communication from school.

Sounds like they got a call about a shooter so they locked down just in case.

That’s what I heard from another parent.
