Yes, so hurtful. Let’s get you a wambulance.

Classic DCUM, PP: Ignore the real issue the OP is bringing up and just mock the OP. So mature and thoughtful.

The OP's husband apparently has issues with anything that's about people who are unlike him. Betting that's not just about TV shows. But you just want to mock OP because either your reading comprehension is abysmal or you are simply mean. Or both.

OP, is TV the only example of his problem with things not being all about white males?

My wife refuses to watch Star Trek with me. I fear I may have made a horrible mistake and married a Star Wars person!

My spouse gets along great with women, gay people, people of color, etc. in real life, but there tends to be some eye rolling when the show seems to be adding them just for the sake of adding them. I haven't seen "only murders in the building," so no idea whether the lesbian relationship is important to the plot.

The only show we watch together is the PBS Newshour. After that we are on our own. In the evening I’m in my studio working and watching my shows and he’s in his office watching well tonight it’s the Yankee game. We have a great relationship but we like our own shows and we have more than one TV so why not use them?

This doesnt appear to be about the TV though. Your husband sounds racist.

I can't watch TV with my husband either but that's because he lives in another state. Try that.

That your h doesn’t like the same show as you is “so hurtful”?
Yea, your marriage is going to be great!

You need to read the post more carefully.

Another +1.

OP, do you and he hold different values generally? I'm not just talking about when you watch TV. Does he grouse (or roll his eyes, or rant) about what he sees as "wokeness" in other areas of life? When he sees or reads the news, or when he encounters people who aren't like him, in his day to day life? As the first PP says -- there is a bigger issue here to address. Do you have kids? if so, they will start to pick up on his attitudes if they haven't already. That could end with them losing interest in dad, especially if they are, or once they are, teens.

My spouse and I only watch one show together. It helps that we have different work schedules I guess. We try and find a movie that’s common ground on a Sat or Sun evening.
