Wow. OP here and I never said that at all. We are actually religious Protestants and DS prefers to go to a school that is not of the Catholic background, for that reason. It's not a good fit for him or our family. Not sure why you're so testy about it.

I was only kidding, ha ha. But now that I know your reasoning I'm not so sure! Your kid's college wouldn't be a good fit for the entire family if it were Catholic? Wow.

What about Haverford?

Susquehanna might be worth a look. My DD did a summer program there and really liked it

Juniata has a fairly high % of international student (9%) for a SLAC of its size/tier.

It's kind of hard to distinguish between these schools. I've known several kids who were very happy at F&M. That and Muhlenberg seem a little more artsy, Bucknell and Gettysburg a little more fratty.

If you go to visit Lafayette, you might as well visit Lehigh. I don't think it's considered a SLAC, but it's certainly a good school.

I’m from that area.

Non-athlete life is really boring at these schools.

Also it helps to be white.

Not worth the high price tag.

They are good schools if you are white, have a good network via family friends that’s not dependent on the school, are an athlete, enjoy drinking

There is also Allegheny, Chatham, Washington and Jefferson, Muhlenberg, Juniata, Elizabethtown, Ursinus for safeties. PA as a ton of SLACs.

DC was accepted to Bucknell and we toured it. Nice campus in a depressed part of PA. Heavy party scene, wealthy student body and over 70% of students participate in Greek life (although you can only rush Sophomore year). Small school of roughly 3500 students. There were some reported anti LGBT actions by fraternity brothers a few months back. DC passed.

One of my kids has friends who are athletes at F&M and Gettysburg and they are all very happy.

Would love to hear thoughts, reviews and comparisons of Bucknell, Lafayette, Dickinson, Gettysburg, F&M, plus any others that you would add to the list. Prefer non-Catholic. What kind of student is most represented at each? Also recognize that acceptance rates range from single digit at places like Swarthmore, to safety-level at others.

Just looking for real student/ real stories from recent years. Thank you!
