Not sure what this means? We know her current GPA and the fact that she tests well on standardized tests. I also said “you never know” but based on published stats she will be well within range. If I thought she was a shoo in (I certainly don’t) I wouldn’t be here looking for other options now would I?

Yeesh!

My point, Tiger Mom, is that you need to relax.

+1
my son had W&M his first choice and he ended up going to Davidson (We mailed most of his stuff and took a short flight to Charlotte instead of driving there)

My DS, who graduated from W & M, also got into Wake Forest, Lafayette, and Dickinson. We were OOS. Also, Villa Nova (spelling?) is a similar size.

Bryn Mawr - a little out of range but fits your criteria otherwise.

DD applied and got in last year. I would’ve been fine if she’d accepted but she went elsewhere. I thought Lafayette was a nice campus, and all the students we saw seemed upbeat, friendly, and happy. Lots of kids walking in groups, sitting together, etc. (This was right before COVID, naturally.)

Respectfully, 100% no. The type of student and social scene at these schools is 100% opposite

UMW feels a lot like WM

I honestly can’t think of any other schools that feel like WM (quiet, work hard, minimal parties)

DD (Junior) is not interested in a large school, and while in range for W&M you just never know. Where else should we be looking for her? Looking for small school with friendly atmosphere and good academics. W&M is instate for us but we would pay private tuition for the right fit. She also wants to be within a reasonable drive from home - like 4 hours or less. She is sweet and naive and a little anxious.

Thanks.
