I'm curious about this: So it isn't the coworkers you miss, but the office furniture? The institutional bathrooms?

NP here - I miss getting dressed and leaving my own home, stopping for coffee on the way, and then being in a office with other grownups who've also gotten dressed and left their homes. Yeah I do miss my coworkers too but I can't do anything about that. I can do something about the being home 24-7 problem - also looking for an office like OP.

You know you can get dressed, get coffee and leave your house (oh, and have actual friends) every day without going into the office, right?

You sound like a middle manager.

Is that supposed to be some sort of insult? Good lord, only on dcum

I’ve been WAH for over 10 years. I’d love an office to go to, but it’s not realistic right now. I totally get why someone wants to.

Google for “coworking space near me” and others will pop up. There’s a bunch near Tysons if that would work for you.

^ dang autocorrect. It’s Regus.

Why not convert a space or room into a home office

That’s way cheaper then I expected. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks.

Also check Expansive and Regus. I use the coworking option at Expansive and it’s $200/mo.

OP here. I miss having a professional environment and corporate-level facilities, e.g. desks, chairs, printers, shredders etc. I don’t care about the people, I’m only friends with the cleaning people. Plus I hate the conference calls. Do we really have to listen to people’s stupid dogs yapping away, or gurgling toddlers? I don’t see how this is a viable way to work. I don’t miss the toilets.

There are some cool offices you can rent in old town from ALX partners if that’s not too far?
