This was probably a test done at 9dpt or earlier. Even on that day, a beta of 10 would hardly ever end with a live birth, but there might be exceptions. I really doubt it's possible for their to be an exception with a beta that low on 16dpt.
It was 14DPO, however that translates. Mine at 15DPO was 24 - healthy baby 9 months later.

I feel this so much. My beta yesterday for 10dp5dt was 55 and the nurse tried to be super chipper and optimistic that it was a good start. At least I talked them into Saturday follow up. Initially they were going to make me wait until Monday!!
