After what happened recently at Six Flags, I wouldn't take my kids there.

What about the Field of Screams? Would you do that with a younger teen?

My daughter went with a few friends and the parents of 1 of the girls when she was 13 and she had fun. They arrived at 5pm on a Friday and stayed till they closed.

Instagram has special channels just to host these right videos; other social media is used to organize these huge fights (you did not really believe these were just spontaneous, did you?).

Same with vandalism / cars destroyed; it is called a licks. And it get posted afterwards for others to enjoy.

We did it when our kid and friend were 12. It was fine. It's def a more sketchy park, with people disregarding rules, jumping in line, etc. But no fights. We closely supervised and just ignored the scofflaws.

As for the scariness, it's pretty scary. The haunted houses are a spectrum but a few were very scary and the characters get very close to you (some dumbass brought a 4 yo'ish little girl in one and she screamed the whole way through -obv.) The characters walking around outside will jump scare you and get very close. But whenever we asked for space or said "Please don't scare us", they left us be.

Absolutely not. That place has changed dramatically over the years.

We have never stayed for Fright Fest because my kids were too young. I would guess that after last weekend that they are really going to crack down and that things will be better managed. I also think that a lot of the parents of these kids are going to not allow them to go unaccompanied. I'm going to monitor things and if it seems like the park has things under control better, I will take my 13 year old in a couple of weeks.

Don't count on it. I remember in the mid 90's there was a massive fight and 5 stabbed at Kings Dominion. Things changed for a little bit, then quickly went down hill again.

Do they have a conceal carry permit?
