You aren’t suppose to use retinol during pregnancy, but I think a small amount of retinol in a CC cream is prob fine. I would not use a “real” cream like Retin-A during pregnancy, though, even if the absorption is prob low. You’re not supposed to use salicylic acid either, but I used 2% every other night through all pregnancies.

+1 especially if it’s an OTC cream.

really??? you can not use that during pregnany. Vitamin A in high doses can cause birth defects. Thats if its taken orally like accutane - at least thats what the studies are about. Im guessing that its likely retinol in a makeup product is very low level that it isnt going to cause problems but it could... and there still so much unknown so best to not use altogether

Well, my doctor never mentioned it, and I never heard about this problem anywhere else. Cold cuts, sushi, alcohol, cat poop, soft cheeses, Advil— all those were mentioned by my doctor, but not retinol.

I’m 42. Just realized the CC cream foundation I use has retinol so I’ve stopped using it. I’m very sad. It was fantastic. What’s your favorite medium weight foundation, preferably with sunscreen in it.
