A old nonworking car with a $4,000 repair bills isn’t worth much, so I wouldn’t worry about getting fleeced.

You can find out what it would be worth if you repair it, and then see if it would be worth it to repair it and then sell it.

They sell cheaper batteries theses days too. Have you looked into that?

You may be able to make some ca$h on it by selling the catalytic converter.

I doubt you will get much if you attempt to sell it yourself.

Hi. I have a broken 2009 Prius. Battery kept dying. Dealership says it needs a new battery and a new computer and the total is 4,000. I am thinking it is not worth it to fix it. But what do I do with it? How can I quickly sell it and know I am getting what it is worth? Currently it is sitting, dead, at the dealer, and I'd rather not pay for a tow.
