Agreed, though there is also the downside that it is a big ship to pilot. Not a problem if you are mainly staying in suburban areas with wide lanes and big parking lots, but definitely a pain if you're attempting to fit it into tight parking garages, tight parking situations, and narrow/congested streets.

For a real suv anything you buy from the factory and send to aev to properly equip. Then you can actually have the off-road sport capable vehicle.

I’ve driven an Acura, Lexus, Audi and Mercedes SUV. They all have luxurious interiors. It really comes down to personal preference. Next time I’m looking at Porsche and BMW for something different.

Best SUV I ever owned was a 2004 Cadillac SRX with a Northstar V8. I'd buy another one if I could find one at a good price. I gave mine to my daughter for her 17th bd, since I didn't need it and it's paid for. She's fixed it up and loves it. Terrible gas mileage, but it's a V8 so.... it has almost 200k miles and runs like a dream.

The tank is 4 gallons bigger in suburban vs GLS. GLS get a range of 476 vs 420 for suburban.

do you care about milage because you care about the environment or because you care about range? A large gas tank can make up for bad millage. The big American luxury SUVs have tanks 5 or 6 gallons bigger than a Mercedes SUV

If you want a pretty interior, a Mercedes is the only answer. Not sure you are going to get good gas mileage out of one, however.
