Exactly what I planned to do. The work is cosmetic. The car runs fine. He's trying to help this person out and the person claimed this is when HE could do the work. It's not necessary work.

So your car needs service, the only time it can get fixed is today, and he rescheduled it to the afternoon so he'll be home when the guy comes to work on it?

You could get your own car serviced and avoid all this.

Been married for years. The man does not hear the word no. Today is my birthday and all I'm asking for is peace. Instead, he asks if a friend who's starting a new business can come here and work on his car. I say no, because he plans to be out most of the day on a bike ride, and I didn't like the guy much last time he came over, and don't want to deal with him alone. He replies it's the only day he can do it. I said I would prefer to take the car to someone else to do then (I drive it a lot). Instead, I find out he's made arrangements for the guy to do it late this afternoon, after he gets back from his ride. My daughter and her boyfriend will be here and we were planning on a quiet dinner here at home. I do NOT want this guy to join us and I guarantee you my husband will invite him for dinner. This guy gave me the huge creeps last time he was here. He works at the same company as my husband, and my husband has already said things like "he gets in his own way" and "he's his own worst enemy" when I ask him how this guy is doing in the program. In other words, not well by his own doing.

I just might be asking for a divorce for my birthday . Kids are grown and I'm tired of fighting these stupid battles.
