Actually a shelter is a nice idea if you get one large enough to share. My son has been on teams where a dad had a big camping one and definitely came in handy on rain days.

I had one of these chaiurs with the shade thing for about two years and never was I able to find a spot on the sideline where the shade thing was ever useful.

If want to go all out and buy the recliner style that rocks. Also leave the extra kids at home focus on the player.

Disagree. Some facilities all viewers are limited to one sideline. People are often stuck choosing between standing/sitting behind or going all the way to the corner.

Get separate chairs and separate umbrellas. I love my golf umbrella for the torrential days. I can sit, hold it as low as possible on me and stay pretty dry.

Don’t get one of those 5 seaters. If one part breaks, all five seats are affected.

No I had canopy for a few years when my son was in travel soccer. I thinkbthe main difference is most people don't have space to carry it in. I had a pickup truck and could easily haul it around. Others I don't think would take the chance tying it down on their SUV.

Agreed the team bench for other than a team is not useful and not a good look in general. I myself don't mind standing or sitting on grass.

I pace up and down the field.

My kids have their devices with them. We buy foldable chairs every two years or so, not sure which ones last more than that.

We use a utility wagon for soccer tournaments to carry all the crap my children bring with them. Canopy is good idea, but often not practical.

Unless there is a health issue, I found the most important things are to have snacks and other things the young children can pass the time with.

Adults need no more than water, coffee, and some conversation with other parents. The time flies by.

So what folding chairs and umbrellas do you recommend for watching your kids play soccer? Ours are falling apart and we need to get new ones. We are a family of 5 so at least 4 of us watching each game. I was thinking those multiple folding chairs that the players sit on? And we can also get a small folding canopy.

Also, any recommendations and tips for making the watching experience more comfortable in all sorts of weather. Like for heated vests or jackets or clothing for the colder weather?
