They don't need your business. MSRP is the lowest most can get these days and that's without the hassle of a custom order that might sit on their lot if you back out.

My sister flew out to visit our parents & get a car at MSRP, then drove back (a two-day trip) rather than pay 10K over, which was what dealers were doing where she lives.

No not true. They sell cars like this all the time. Most have full time internet specialists. OP my guess is either no stock or price is too high.

I sent specs on the hybrid plug-in I wanted to 7 dealerships (in hopes to order from the factory, which is an option they offer.) Only two wrote me back, one offering it at MSRP, the other working up the offer. What happened to the others? And am I supposed to be paying list for a plug-in hybrid these days?
