Ugh. We just had RSV run through the young toddler room at our daycare, too. Took out 4 kids and 2 caregivers. My 16mo was one of them, and it was ROUGH. It was a good 10 days or so until she was back to normal.

Yup, my daycare had HFM in August. My kid caught it very mildly (one day of fever then rash for a few more days); I was fine, thank goodness.

I caught HFM from our older DD 3 years ago. She had a very mild case but, short of a bad bout of the flu in college, that's the sickest 72 hours I've had in my life. I was surprised at just how awful I felt getting it as an adult. Really hoping to avoid it with younger DD, although it seems almost inevitable.

SAME, when I got it from my infant son, who hasn't seemed all that bothered, I couldn't believe how awful I felt.

PP here. Our pediatrician said it is similar to chicken pox in that it is far worse if you get it as an adult. Funny, because I had never heard that. I thought it was just something that little kids get that generally doesn’t impact adults at all. How very wrong I was!!!
