My DH had the same diagnosis, however, ours ended up being more of a functional issue and we did microTESE with IVF. It really depends on the cause of the azoospermia and the urologist will have experience in how to proceed. The reality (at the time) was incredibly overwhelming - so please be sure to take some time for yourself.

My friend went through this, and the good news is if your healthy it’s a lot easier than if you have trouble. My friend had 3 in 4 years with a sperm donor whereas another friend had 6 miscarriages bc she couldn’t carry to term. In terms of infertility issues, this is one of the easier ones to deal with.

At least sperm donor is easier than egg donor...though I understand that it is way to soon to ponder your options.

See what the doctor says. For example, I wonder if he might HAVE sperm in his testicles, but they just can't get into the ejaculate??? I am not a doctor.

It will work out if you really want to be parents. I adopted a DC and it has been the most wonderful experience of my life (not saying that will be your path, but saying that there are many roads to Rome!)

I get that your upset, but your husband must be devastated too. I would be sure to remind him regardless of this diagnosis that you love him regardless if you can/cannot have biological children. See what the doc says and then examine your options. You both need to support each other. Best of luck!

OP, I know SO many people who used donor sperm and all of them have happy, healthy children. Your husband may be upset that it's not his biological child, but he can get therapy to help him through that, and he will absolutely love any child he raises.

Try a TESE. I have a friend who had two full bio kids from TESE extracted sperm after an azoospermia diagnosis.

Once you've had time to process, you could consider a sperm donor if your test results are all ok. As far as Assisted Reproduction goes, it's a lot easier and cheaper than a lot of other forms of treatment.

DH doesn't want to talk about it and I'm giving him space.

But I'm just heartbroken. I don't know what we do from here. What our options are.

Got a call today and my DH sperm analysis came back. With zero sperm present. He is getting a referral to a urologist. But it feels like punch in the gut.

Obviously not much we can do until his consultation.

Feeling really bummed and sad.
