There are guidelines https://health.maryland.gov/phpa/Documents/K12%20School%20and%20Childcare%20COVID-19%20Guidance_8.13.21.pdf

but at my school they’re not being enforced and seems to just be totally at the whims of the school nurse. They are making everyone quarantine for every runny nose with no option to test back in. It is basically virtual school again for the whole school.

Would be nice if local media cared about PGCPS as much as MCPS and DCPS and covered our school system as more than merely a curiosity because PGCPS seems to be able to fly under the radar with these inconsistent and draconian exclusion policies.

Does anyone have the ruberic that PGCPS is using to determine how long a child needs to stay out of school if they have cold type symptoms.

For example, a child has what their parent things is a cold. They keep them home and takes them for a Covid test in an abundance of caution. They communicate all of this with the school.
Is there some document that spells out when the child can come back to school. Common sense tells me that if they have not had an exposure to a covid positive person and their symptoms are over that they should be able to return immediately. The parent is being told that they child can only return to school XX number of days later.
