I would insist on renting a car and do so with or without his "approval." You are an adult. Go rent a car.

Bc the military/US government or company will pay for the shipping.

It depends on how often you're using uber. I might be willing to pay a bit more for the convenience of a rental car, but not a lot more. And if you don't have parking, a rental car would be even more expensive/less convenient.

We don’t know your financial situation or where you live. I wouldn’t rent a car if I lived in the city center of a larger town, but would definitely rent one if I am out in a small village (or stuck on a military base).

In Europe I've used Sixt a few times and the rates were very good. Tell you husband to not be so cheap.

We recently moved overseas and our car will not arrive until towards the end of October. I’ve been using Uber in the mean time, but after a few weeks it is getting old.
I keep asking H if we can rent a car, but he grumbles about the price- says maybe we can rent one for a week at a time. Prices here are much less than In US to rent a car. Just curious as to what others’ opinions are. Thanks
