Last checked my bone density was fine.

This. Lupron in IVF is usually used in what’s called a “micro-dose” cycle. It’s a small amount used for a couple of weeks. Bone density is not a concern at that level. Kids using it as a puberty-blocker for years is a different story. But two weeks for IVF? Not a concern.

Even kids regain their original bone density after long term Lupron. That was a concern, but has been shown to only be temporary.

Bone loss on Lupron isn’t really a concern with short-term use (like how it is used in IVF cycles). It is more of a concern when you are on it for an extended period, like for 6 months as an endometriosis treatment. I’ve been on Lupron for endo multiple times. Last checked my bone density was fine.

None of these drugs and hormones in these large numbers are exactly good for you, but is it worth it? Yes.

Has anyone heard of Lupron causing loss of bone density? I read a headline about this, but cannot find anything online with more info. I don’t believe my RE is going to give me the straight answer (they want to sell the treatment after all).
