The crawling will help build ab strength. No harm talking to a doctor if you’re concerned, but 11 months is still young. My kids were on the later end for gross motor skills (both crawled around 11-12 months. One walked at 14.5 months and the other at 17.5 months.) Now at aged 9 and 4 they can do the same things that their earlier walking friends can do.

Don't help him walk, don't do that you hold their hands up high over their head while they walk holding your fingers. That doesn't help them learn to get their balance, which is what is important.

What DOES help is leaving them be and allowing them to crawl as much as they want AND to do as much cruising and standing still after letting go as they want. So make sure there are things your baby can crawl to, pull up to and then cruise around (couch, coffee table, etc). they will get the walking thing, just in 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 months

There a pretty wide range of whats considered a normal timeline for walking. He'll walk when he's ready, don't worry about it too much.

He doesn’t know how to use his legs. But he will learn in time. Every NT kid learns to walk. Just let him be loose and explore.

Don't rush it. I started worrying slightly at 12.5 months and then the next day, she walked. If it's your firstborn, you can particularly relax because younger siblings tend to have motivation to walk/crawl earlier (chasing after big siblings). Firstborns don't.

He’s fine. My DS started crawling at 7 months. We thought he’s be an early walker. He started at 14 months, and at 20 months is running all over the place.

Read Janet Lansbury. He will walk on his timetable, not yours. He's fine. Let him crawl and he will figure it out. Two of my kids walked at 9 months, the other 15 months - and never pulled himself up stand to cruise around - he went from crawling to walking. Each human is different.

It’s normal. My kid was cruising at 11 mos bit didn’t walk unassisted until 14 mos.

Crawling is great exercise for the core and hips. Give him time. Chill.

Am I over thinking this? My 11 month old crawls everywhere and can pull himself up. He’s not cruising yet and when we hold his hands to try and help him walk, it’s like he doesn’t know how to use his legs. His legs are very rigid when we hold onto his hands to help him. Is this normal? Should we be doing something to help him? Give him time?
