This is what you’re looking for, OP.

Good luck. This can be a game-changer.

My parents attended something called “Marriage Encounter” decades ago and it changed their marriage. I’ve also read good things about the Gottman Institute programs.

Do a “getting the love you want” weekend workshop- imago therapy. Life changing.

OP here: Thanks! This is good to know about the focus not being overly religious. My DH is Catholic so he actually might be into that aspect. I really appreciate it.

Our Lady of Bethesda offers couples retreats. One based on Sue Johnson’s Emotional Focused Therapy approach. She is psychologist and the approach is secular. The retreat center adds a faith component to it but the actual content is secular. Therapist said it is essentially equivalent to 10 sessions of therapy crammed into one intense weekend. I recommend.

Cooped up for a weekend with a STBX who is at best indifferent to you and who has checked out and can't wait to leave...

Well, didn't work well for me anyway. YMMV.

Yes, I recommend to retreat. Wave the white flag. [~~]

Retrovaille is sponsored by the Catholic church but we found it to be pretty non-denominational. One of us is not even Christian and found it valuable. Good luck.

I have heard of these retreats, but does anyone have a recommendation from personal experience? I think our marriage is still salvagable but we definitely are headings towards divorce if there is no intervention. Normal couples counseling has not worked, and we have a direct conflict of values that will break us if we can't find a way to deal with this. I would like to try such a retreat but I'm skeptical because the ones I found from a Google search mainly seem to have a Christian slant. Thanks in advance.
