The risk of death from Covid for an unvaccinated under-12 year old is lower than that for a vaccinated 40+ year old….I wonder what the average age of a Met gala attendee is.

Uhm, no. Do you have the stats to back up that wild claim?

Few things make me as annoyed as mothers who presume to speak for their young children, sanctimoniously telling them that it "does not bother them" to have to wear a mask all day. Trust me when I say that you will pay the price for this with your kids one day.

DP. My kid doesn't mind. I know because 1) she's told me and 2) she regularly has to be reminded to take hers off when she gets home. I'm not sure what's sanctimonious about understanding my child.

They don't wear it "all day" - they take it off to eat and drink, when they go outside and for preschool age, for naps also. My 4 year old has no issue wearing his mask.

Guess this has to do with the “sophistication” of the crowd at Met tonight?

it looks like the staff was masked. The take away seems to be that everyone still caters to the rich

No, those of us who actually understand science will pay zero price. My kids are happy and totally fine. But by all means, keep screaming into the wind because wearing a thin scrap of cloth over one's mouth is such torture.

MetGala attendees were required to be vaxxed AND provide a negative test and masked when not eating or drinking (obviously not while arriving/pictures).
Can 8 year old NYC third graders affirmatively confirm all that?
